lyrics

Flow my teares, fall from your springs!
Exilde for ever: Let me morne;
Where nights black bird hir sad infamy sings,
There let me live forlorne.

Downe vaine lights, shine you no more,
No nights are dark enough for those
That in dispaire their last fortunes deplore,
Light doth but shame disclose.

Never may my woes be relieved,
Since pittie is fled;
And teares, and sighes, and grones
My wearie days of all joyes have deprived.

From the highest spire of contentment,
My fortune is throwne;
And feare, and griefe, and paine for my deserts
Are my hopes, since hope is gone.

Hark! you shadowes that in darknesse dwell,
Learn to contemne light,
Happy, happy they that in hell
Feele not the worlds despite.

Being a work inspired by the imaginarium of the wonderfully flipped-out natural philosopher Philip K Dick and his penchant for warping, degrading and/or multiplicating realities, using a blend of palimpsests, field recordings, samples, tape manipulations, narrations and the ever-reliable arrangement of tones in a particular order for a pleasing harmonic drift.
Owen Kilfeather: tenor voice, organ, electric guitars, electroacoustic treatments

Adapted by Owen Kilfeather from Flow My Tears by John Dowland (1563-1626). Executed and recorded at RF Mataplumas, Sligo, Ireland, in early February 2019.

Mixed by Cian Hamilton. Mastered by Richard Dowling at Wav Mastering, Limerick, Ireland.

Thanks to Marcoesteves de Mouracampos and Andreas Dunst for spiffing up my rickety German, David Fahey, Eugene Martynec, and Mat Ward of No Mates Ensemble for slinging the sound library on down the road.
